Bike ride

Last Saturday I decided to take my bike out for a ride.

I had all planned in my head. I was going to get out the door by 11:30 am. Going to ride across the park to my first destination, maybe swing by a coffee shop to read a book.

But things didn’t go as planned. When I got my bike from the basement, I noticed how both of the wheels are deflated. I had to bring it back upstairs and spent at least an hour tying to figure out how to pump it back up.

I ended up having to walk it to the bike shop. But all along I did one thing diferently.

Instead of thinking, damn my plan is all ruined, I just surrendered and said, the universe had a different plan for me. And I end up having the most magical day.

I’m learning the magic of surrender. Onwards!

I’ve experienced flat-tire bicycle syndrome. The most recent one happened literally one ride after I had just brought the bike home from the shop for a previous flat repair. I became so annoyed at such an indignity that I haven’t ridden the bike since.
