Boring is freedom

For the first 20 years of my life, I can’t stand staying at home all day. I’ll get headaches. I needed excitement, stimulation, fun.

But these days, I’d rather have boring days.

Days when I wake at 5am for deep work.
Carry my son to pre-school in the quiet morning
Have a quiet breakfast with my wife.
Write the daily words.
Fetch kid from school, have lunch.
Nap, work some more.
Dinner, chat, read story books.
Bedtime.

I’ve changed. It’s an age thing, or a life stage thing for sure.

But it is what is is now. And I love it.

After all the global and personal crises for the past few years, all one can crave for is some boring.

Just a normal month—or even a year—where nothing goes wrong.

That’s plenty in my world.

That’s freedom.
