Do your kids still read?

I was discussing with my kids what their friends talk about during free time in school. They told me that most of their friends talk about YouTube videos or Roblox. However, my kids have limited time on those things, usually only on weekends. My kids feel that their friends nowadays spend too much time on these virtual things, which is why they don’t like to read as much. Virtual things give them excitement compared to reading books, which takes a while to enjoy.

I am glad that we don’t give our kids phones or tablets during mealtime like some parents do. This is why my kids love to read, not just books with tons of text but also comics and storybooks about history, among other things.
