Slumber

As I lay in semi-darkness, reading my Kindle by dim torchlight, I begin to drop off. It’s part of my night time routine now. I try to read even just a little, as it seems to help me drift away into slumber much easier than if I don’t.

As I read and don’t notice my eyes close, my mind makes up the next few lines or paragraph of the story. Strange things start to happen, places get altered and random topics introduced. I have to re-read the section again, but it always interests me that my mind made up such detailed parts I never read.
