Why don’t people like to tell other people their age? There will be many reasons why you shouldn’t ask someone their age. Aging is personal, and not everyone would want to reveal it. As you age, a person may wish to keep their age to themself so they are not judged as looking older (or younger) than they really are. If you are unsure how someone might react to the question, then it is best not to ask.

When I used to ask my late auntie how old she was, she would always reply by saying - “I’m the same age as my little finger and a bit older than my teeth”. And when I would ask my mum how old she was, she would always say she was 21, the same age, every year.

It’s my birthday today, and I am now officially a ‘senior’. As a result, I have had to contemplate how I respond to revealing my age when asked.
Today I turn 60, and I am ok with saying so. And I am still the same age as my little finger, but a bit older than my teeth.

Happy birthday! I hope you celebrate with a nice steak dinner and some of those pastries you like.

I can’t wait until I’m old enough that people start ignoring all my bad behavior.
