Designing a curriculum vs delivering a curriculum

In the past few days I was working on the curricula of my courses. But I was mostly organizing and reordering notes. To truly get a sense of what the best curriculum design is, I have to rehearse it. I have to imagine delivering my courses.
- How would I sequence my ideas?
- What reassurances would I feel like I need to offer at each stage?
- Am I making assumptions about what my students already know?
- Is what I’m presenting - in the sequence that I’m presenting it - exciting and keeps students engaged?
- Does a lesson feel heavy and might need breaking down?
- Do I have clear transitions between lessons?
- Where should I sprinkle practical exercises for students to do?
- How do I balance between getting results and avoiding a sense of intimidation?
- How can I help my students go through my course material AND apply the lessons in their lives?
I only feel comfortable doing this by doing a “dry run” of the curriculum. This is why I’m not going to my favorite cafe today. Instead, I’ll be going to my office where I can freely speak out what I want to say and make adjustments to the curriculum as I see fit.
We had a sandstorm in Kuwait a couple of days ago and I haven’t been to my office since. I really hope I won’t be going to a pile of dust all over the place. 🤣😭

@therealbrandonwilson We don’t. And it would be a weird name for sandstorms in Arabic because haboob is another way to say habibi (more on the “dear” side than “lover”) 🤣
Do you also refer to sandstorms there as “haboobs?”
