Discord

One of the trends that are slowly replacing Slack is Discord. I knight Discord start with Gamers, then gradually there are some Startups using it, but not that many. After web3 products start getting popular and they can use the Discord to gate the users with some other features. Suddenly all new products flow over to Discord already.
I don’t like Discord.
It’s overwhelming, like having multiple real-time chat channels in front of you. In addition, there is always a beep sound pop, and I have no idea that’s from which channel or for what. Besides, looking for information is another nightmare.
Older people like me still prefer forum-based way communication, I guess.

I joined so many Discords but I never check. Yes agree, it’s so messy visually. Feels overwhelming. Still sticking to my Telegram groups
lol it pops an idea, a service that pull the selected channel news into an App!
Or like a tweetdeck to twitter - create a minimal UI layer to consume Discord in a saner way
lol, I m not really a fan of Tweetdeck, for the news style of UI I prefer Twitter style one column order by timelines or popular, I can swap into the different lists if I want, but not multi-column style.
Hmmm true true. single column is less crazy.
wonder does it help for Telegram as well? there are some Telegram for announcement purpose only, but I m lazy to open so many app to view it
Maybe a Telegram bot might do it. It pulls all the important chats into just 1 chat
I’ve joined two Discord channels, one from backing a Kickstarter and the other for a book club, but it just confuses me. I’ve never posted anything. I feel like I might be too old for Discord. It’s a sign of my growing irrelevance.
