Hello, World!

First ever post for LifeBlog! Pretty stoked about starting this developer’s blog for Lifelog. The overall goal for the blog is about transparency – to be open about Lifelog’s development journey, a bit of the peek behind the scenes.

There’s a few things I wanted this blog to focus on:

• Geeking out over the tech stack. I run Lifelog on a JAMstack architectural approach, on a separate Nuxt.js frontend and Node.js-based backend (using headless CMS Strapi). This is my very first software-as-a-service (SaaS) business, and six months ago I hardly knew any Nuxt or Node. I really enjoy learning, and the journey of discovering and learning new things makes me have a lot of thoughts and musing about coding, web development, and tech in general.

• Sharing the thoughts and approach behind streaks, daily writing, consistency, habit formation. I remember writing quite a lot about streaks and habits in the old 200wordsaday platform. So I might re-purpose some of those old content, and update it a bit based on the current situation, and post it here. Other wild ideas include guest posts from members about how they approach streaks/writing habits here.

• Thoughts on goals and productivity. Since Lifelog is a site for writing towards one’s goals, I can’t miss out on this big topic. Setting, working on and achieving goals had always been something of an obsession to me. Through writing about it, I’m also hoping to clarify my own thoughts and ways towards my goals.

• Occasional posts about big updates, announcements and admin stuff. Or crowdsourcing for ideas from the community. Or open calls for contribution in development or writing…? Anything goes in this category!

Most importantly, I hope this blog to be a conversation, not a broadcasting platform. So…anything else I missed? Let me know!
