The Content Slam

It can be hard to generate a ton of content.

My video content on YouTube requires a fair bit of R&D to get done, and sometimes the R&D process feels rushed when I’m trying to hit a content deadline. When the R&D process gets rushed, I often miss things, which slows down the content creation process when I have to stop filming to fix a bug in my code or something similar.

It’s the Content Slam, and it’s why I try to work as much as possible on building out a content backlog so I can slow down and work without deadlines as much as possible… but then that often leads to a content slam of its own.

Today I’ve got 5 videos, 5 blogs, 5 threads and a bunch of random one-off content to spin up and boy… it’s a slog.

Agree about the difficulty. So far the flywheel trick I learned is to repurpose from content that I have no problem generating. I enjoy replying, so the best ones become tweets. I enjoy writing here, and the best one for the week becomes my weekly newsletter. Seems to be working so far!
