Under the weather

It’s never fun when you’re feeling under the weather, but I always think these are good moments to remind myself of Alan Watt’s quote:

Stop measuring days by degree of productivity and start experiencing them by degree of presence.

Even when there’s mucus running out of the nose, and my head just feels heavy with a minor but constant headache, I still could learn the pleasures of a day. Even when I don’t get to be as active or productive, I can still learn to be patient and be present for the people most important to me.

Being sick is an opportunity for a lesson if you are able to listen to it. And this time, I heard it loudly.

Onwards!
