Wellness Journey

Walking significantly enhances my overall health. It is a powerful and invigorating form of exercise. Thirty minutes of brisk walking daily can improve cardiovascular fitness, strengthen my bones, reduce unwanted body fat, and significantly increase muscle endurance and power. Consequently, I have seamlessly integrated a revitalising daily walk into my work lunch break, turning a mundane routine into a refreshing escape. My lunchtime ritual begins with a salad at noon, followed by a brisk 2.5-kilometre trek around the block at 12.30 p.m.
Completing this 2.5-kilometre stroll translates to roughly 3,500 steps, yet I strive to reach my goal of 10,000 daily. To accomplish this, I must cover a total distance of 8 kilometres each day. At my brisk walking pace of approximately 10 minutes per kilometre, an 8-kilometre walk would require 80 minutes of walking, a luxury I can’t afford during my lunch break. To compensate for this time constraint, I often park my car strategically 2.5 kilometres from my office, allowing me the opportunity to walk both to and from work. By incorporating this extra walking into my day, I actively work towards my goal of 10,000 steps every day, making my journey not just a means of getting from point A to point B but an essential part of my wellness journey.
