When even 1 push-up feels good

When even one push-up feels good, you know you’ve been putting it off for way too long. At least that’s how I felt when it came to acting on my money situation.

As part of Fund Feb, I wanted to work on my money habits. Two habits happen in the morning – my daily verbal affirmation exercise on my money goal, and a tiny ritual of putting a $2 note into a jar with the same name.

I will learn my way towards $5k MRR by 1 Jan 2022. In return, I will learn how to grow my indie products diligently, and adhere to a millionaire habit system.

Both habits didn’t take more than five minutes. But when I did it this morning for the first time in a long time, it felt really great. More than I ever recalled it did last year. That’s when I realised, it’s my body’s way of saying, “It’s about damned time!” Yeah, I’d been putting it off for too long, preferring to burrow my head into the sand instead of owning up to it and facing it head-on. But all the while, the nagging feeling persists. I can see why in Atomic Habits, James Clear talks about just starting small, like doing one push-up, or five minutes on the threadmill.

Because when blocked aspiration gets acted on, the release is cathartic at least, delicious at best.

Speaking for the people who can barely do one standard pushup, one pushup definitely does not feel good. 🤣
