A builder at last

My wife and I have a long list of improvements we would like to make to our home. At the top of the list is a taller front fence to keep the dogs in, along with a new feature wall in the lounge that incorporates an electric fireplace. We have plenty of ideas, but turning them into reality can be the difficult part.

Over the years, we have found that finding a builder willing to take on relatively small modification projects can be surprisingly challenging. Many builders focus on large renovations or new home builds, while smaller jobs often end up in the “too hard” basket. As a result, projects we have discussed for months, or even years, have remained nothing more than plans and sketches.

Recently, however, a promising opportunity arose from an unexpected source. Our youngest daughter’s partner mentioned that he has a mate who is a builder and thought he might be interested in helping us. He has since reached out to his friend to ask whether his friend would be willing to take a look at the jobs we have in mind. We feel confident that our plans will move forward, and we will complete our projects sooner or later.
