A fair price

When I took up writing on Writelier, I was happy to become a Patron early on and pay the nominal monthly fee of $5.00. I don’t recall if that was USD or not, but once it was converted to AUD, then it was a very affordable $7.50 a month. It was a shame that Baz couldn’t get enough subscribers to make it worthwhile.

I have a firm belief that if you don’t put a value on what you do, then people won’t value what you do. Twenty years of end-users haggling over getting something for free has hardened me on this. If you have confidence in your product and services, then people will pay a fair price for it.

I have been reviewing @jasonleows pricing for LifeLog and will be signing up soon. I cannot expect him to be adding more features to Lifelog without making a contribution, and $10 a month works out to 33 cents a day. I am not sure what you can buy for 33 cents these days, but to me, it seems fair.

I think @jasonleows is being a little generous with the perpetual option. It will help to provide some seed funding for the project, and it may be the option I take up to show a little confidence that Lifelog is here for the long term.

It’s time for me to commit to LifeLog.

@peterdannock Thank you for the vote of confidence Peter! Super grateful for your presence in the first place, and now for your support! :))) Do you think the lifetime deal is generous? It’s a stab in the dark for me, really. I suspect most users wouldn’t stay past 1 year, thats why that pricing. But of course, for streak masters like us, it’ll be a great deal (which I’ll gladly offer anyway)!

Side-note: Since you already have an account, you don’t have to register an account after you made payment. Just login as per normal.

Separately, what’s this product you’ve been doing for 20 years? Do share, curious now

@jasonleow, a good part of the last 20 years was in desktop applications for aged care and community care. Last few years I have been working on a web-based solution for research management in universities, primarily working in an operational management role (https://data.com.au/researchmaster/).

I was a patron of 200WAD as well, and I suppose I, too, should get fully committed to Lifelog. Since that perpetual option is so generous I’d better snap that one up then!
