Anticipation

There is an interesting proverb around over here “Vorfreude ist die größte Freude” which roughly translates to “anticipation is the greatest joy”. Meaning, waiting for something awesome can be more exciting than the event itself.

Currently, I’m really looking forward to today’s evening, watching “Rite Here Rite now”, but there is more around the corner. Tomorrow, ACDC and in October, the Polaris Convention in Hamburg.

Yes, October is still far out, but having a countdown widget on my phone where you can see the days flowing away gets me more and more excited the smaller the day-count gets and the closer the event arrives. So anticipation can be a great motivator and “what feels like forever” reducer.

Love that proverb. I recently relived that again, after 5 years without it. For me, it’s the anticipation of travel.

Travel can be a hell of an anticipation booster.
