Better comms

I tend to type quickly, which leads to silly mistakes in my emails, especially with dates and wording. I dislike sending messages with incorrect dates. For instance, I recently wrote, “Let’s meet on Friday, 12th March 2025.“This created confusion, as the 12th of March was not a Friday. Did I mean to suggest meeting on a Friday or specifically on 12th March? It was unclear and confusing.
I also struggle with typing certain words. For instance, I often mistakenly type “from” as “form” and “has” as “ahs. " Sadly, my spell checker fails to catch these errors, necessitating that I read my emails carefully before hitting send. Additionally, I can’t touch type, a skill I wish I had acquired in my youth. However, before computers became widespread, girls were typically encouraged to learn touch typing.
My typing style can best be described as a frantic and hurried slam on the keyboard, which inevitably leads me to spend a considerable amount of time reviewing and editing my work afterwards. As a result, I often find myself in the frustrating situation of needing to retype numerous misspelled words and awkwardly phrased sentences. If I took extra time to type more carefully and thoughtfully from the beginning, I would significantly enhance my email efficiency and the accuracy of my written communications.
