My wife has a long list of recommendations for books I should read or, in my case, listen to. I have found many of her recommendations quite engaging and find myself returning to many chapters to listen to a second time. We have recently been sharing the Thursday Murder Club series of novels by Richard Osman on Audible. I have especially enjoyed the four-book series and scooted ahead, finishing it in a few weeks. My wife has taken a little longer and has just started the fourth book.

My wife and I have enjoyed Richard Osman’s books, appreciating how he has developed the characters throughout the series and how sensitively his writing addresses their aging. One chapter in the fourth book was so compelling that I had to listen to it three times. It’s inappropriate in our small book club to reveal too much of the storyline if we haven’t both finished the book. So, I challenged my wife to identify this chapter while listening to the fourth book. She accepted the challenge and suggested a few chapters but hasn’t yet reached the chapter for the challenge. However, I’m confident that she will know exactly what I am referring to when she listens to that chapter.
