My cat smells.

Usually with his nose, but he has a bad cold at the moment. So bad that he has stopped eating as he can’t smell his food. He goes mad when I get the food out, but when I put it in front of him he wheezes through a crackling, snot covered nose and looks back to me to put down the “real food”.

I think it has been a few days now that I haven’t seen him eat or drink, so we are off to the vet later to check him over.

Looking on a few cat websites, it is clear that he has some sort of infection. Apart from the snot around his nose, there is discharge from his eyes and he smells awful. The sites all say that if they stop eating or drinking then it is serious, so no time to waste.

He is a stupid idiot, but I wouldn’t want him to suffer.

He smells also because he stopped cleaning himself isn’t it?

The vet thought he had a sinus infection, which is where the bad smell was coming from.
He had a shot of antibiotics and anti-inflammatories and seems a bit better today. He is eating at least.
