Closing a big deal
knight • 17 Dec 2024 •
I believe I mentioned before that I was trying to finalize a significant deal for my freelance work recently. After navigating various challenges, I finally sealed the deal today, and the client management has approved the quotation.
This means I likely won’t face any financial pressure for the next six months, provided everything goes smoothly and the client requests the quotation for the second part. I anticipate that 2025 will be a stable year.
The twist in this project is that I initially proposed to the client to rebuild Module A, which would streamline the entire process and reduce development costs. However, the client insisted on completing Module B first, leading to higher cost and longer development time. Hence, I believe my financial in 2025 should remain stable, though I may need to invest more time in my freelance work.
I plan to begin this work after returning from a short trip to KL this week. 2024 will be the first year I break with tradition by not taking the holiday break until the new year.

I predict that you will be living in Wu Wei in 2025.

congrats Knight!
@therealbrandonwilson what Wu Wei means?
@poppacalypse thanks!
Wu wei (无为) is a Chinese philosophical concept that means “non-action” or “effortless action”. It’s a key idea in Taoism, and is central to the idea of following “The Way”.
Wu wei is about being present, listening to your instincts, and allowing actions to flow naturally. It’s about recognizing when to act and when to step back, and understanding that sometimes the best course of action is to let things unfold on their own.

argh i know that term, just that in english i didn’t get it haha now i know.
Congrats! I’m sure it’s a great feeling to have the income and work locked in for most, if not all, of 2025.
