Cold

The late nights, early mornings and constant stress have got to me in the end. I have come down with a cold over the last few days, and it feels like the crescendo today.

We had a busy day, replacing a dead pump in our garden water feature, only to find that the new pump doesn’t come with the right adapters for the existing hose, so it only worked for a few hours. I had tried my best McGuyver to get it working, but it must have come loose.

The sun beat down on me as I scambled around in the mud, raking back stones and lumps of granite to get to the old pump and hose. Now I will have to do it all again to try and add a new adapter.

I stumbled through a long walk with my wife and son, covering 10k across farmers fields and along canals and country roads. It was a nice walk, but I was dead on my feet by then. After I had cooked dinner and had a shower, I have been dropping off in the chair, deftly head-butting the armchir as I nod off and my head falls back.

Gonna go to bed now as I have another full day tomorrow with various work and family stuff to get through.
