Coworking & Heat

Tomorrow I’ll be visiting the local Co-Working space that is run by two of my ex-colleagues from my former employer. I bought a 10+1 ticket last year, so I try to get there around once a month.

In summer, I’ll probably be visiting more often, as it will be hot in my Apartment. Interestingly, I can’t exactly pinpoint how bad working in the heat was last year, but overall, I remember it being daunting and exhausting.

I have a portable AC unit in my living room, it is powerful enough to cool the whole Apartment, but with the whole house not being insulated, it starts to heat up as soon as I turn it off again. So the focus is on keeping the bedroom cool, so I can turn the AC off overnight, as it is also loud as hell. Sometimes it would be nice to have “American style” windows, so I could directly install an AC there, but for now, I’ll just have to endure the heat. Luckily, it is only March, so for now the heating system is still running.

Sounds like you should have a cooling mattress pad for the hot summers.

I had a look at those, but an active one would heat up the room even more, I think.

Works in AZ in the summer when it hits 115. Should be good enough for your flat in the Austrian foothills.

I hope it doesn’t get that hot. I’m not useable above 30°C :)
