Different Streaming Ideas

I was reading through “who are you” parts of the bar camp discord. It is interesting how many different people joined. So I’m looking forward to meeting at least some of them.

While reading through, I also discovered the huge amount of different content people are producing. Some are as simple as “Just Chatting” and the typical “Gaming” content. But others are doing “Co Working”, where you stream yourself working. Most of the time with a Pomodoro Timer or something similar and LoFi beats in the Background. Others organize large charity events.

So that sprouted some streaming ideas for myself too. I did some Warhammer 40k building live years back, but having an actual coding project (totalcostofownership.app), I’m thinking about doing that live too. Of course, the typical gaming content probably won’t fall short, but having two additional content ideas can’t be bad. I’ll keep you posted.

Watching a stream of someone working is like playing that work simulator game on VR. I don’t get the point.

What’s warhammer 40k building? Sounds interesting!

Saw the landing page of totalcostofownership.app is up. Nice! What’s next?

@therealbrandonwilson I know what you mean, but I’ve noticed myself doing it from time to time. As with the pomodoro technique, the people work 25 minutes and then chat for 5 minutes. The viewers engage by declaring what they do or just supporting each other. It is probably the same reason why getmakerlog.com works. Public accountability.

@jasonleow Warhammer 40,000 is a Tabletop game by Games Workshop. Basically, you build and paint miniatures, and I’ve got a splendid amount of unbuilt ones in one of my drawers. After building and painting, you can fight battles with them (another content idea called “Battle Reports”, where you show such a battle).

For totalcostofownership.app I’m thinking about buying https://shipfa.st/ (saw it on one of your listing pages), to get some hassle out of the way. But I’m already procrastinating on it again.
