DotA2 - The International

A few days ago, I got an interesting notification from Twitch. The “Dota2 The International Channel”, went live. I was slightly caught off guard, I knew one of the largest esports tournaments would start soon, but I didn’t expect September.

Anyway, since then, I have been watching the play-offs when I had time, and today I’m sitting in the meeting room of the coworking space watching the first rounds of the upcoming finale.

I’m a bit bummed as they are playing in a hall in Copenhagen, which would be a worthwhile trip to watch the games in person. But I haven’t been keeping up with the schedules and almost missed the tournament.

Interestingly, I don’t play the game myself, nor do I fully understand all the rules and how everything works. But I think that’s part of the fun.

As someone who enjoys live concerts, you would find watching people play video games in person equally entertaining?

I think it’s not directly about the game or concert, but more about the crowd and the “feeling” if you know what I mean.

You are more likely to get a certain feeling dancing behind an Avril look-alike at a concert over some live streaming event. 🤣

Well, I’m enjoying watching the streams already. There you can even see the players in their booth.
