Easter getaway

For over fifteen years, spending the Easter break at Cumberland Holiday Park has been a family tradition. In 2009, we were invited by friends to join them for the Easter weekend, and we gladly accepted, initially believing it would be a one-time experience. Until that point, our Easters were typically spent at home, so this was a wonderful chance to escape for a long weekend.
On our first trip, we borrowed camping gear and set up our tent among friends. Our group had more than a dozen people, and we took turns cooking while enjoying long nights around the campfire. When we were leaving, we told our girls we might not return next year, but they insisted we should. As a result, we’ve been returning every year since. Over the years, we have occupied the luxury cabins on site, ditching the camping equipment. So, getting away for the Easter weekend has become much easier. On departure each year, we book the cabin for the following year.
Different people have joined us over the years, but a consistent number of family groups has now become the nucleus of our annual Easter break. I always look forward to seeing everyone together at Easter.
