Echo and Narcissus Writing Club

Today I will start the writing class that Daniel got a few us to join. The first assignment is to pick the writers whose style we want to study and mimic for a 6 week period.
I had a hard time selecting just one so I did the next best thing and picked 2.
Trevor Noah - Love his opinions and intelligent humor. I loved his book ‘Born A Crime.’
There are many part that I loved from that book but this one I connect with the most… particularly this year.
I don’t regret anything I’ve ever done in life, any choice that I’ve made. But I’m consumed with regret for the things I didn’t do, the choices I didn’t make, the things I didn’t say. We spend so much time being afraid of failure, afraid of rejection. But regret is the thing we should fear most. Failure is an answer. Rejection is an answer. Regret is an eternal question you will never have to answer to. “What if…” “If only…””I wonder what would have…” You will never, never know, and it will haunt you for the rest of your days. (pp.143)
Scott Adams - He is the creator of Dilbert comic strip - and has a satirical/sarcastic style of writing. Love these two pieces of work he authored:
- The day you became a better writer
- How to fail at everything and still win big
Using Sir Abe’s format:
Ideas
