Engagement Groups

I saw a tweet this morning which was something along the lines of:
How to grow your Twitter account to make money.
- Post 5 tweets a day
- Comment 80 times a day on other accounts
- Join an engagement group
- Drop affiliate links.
- …
- Profit.
Of course, this all sounds easy.
But you can’t get people to click your affiliate links until you have a larger number of followers and eyeballs on your tweets. And getting followers is hard.
The “engagement group” part was something I was kinda aware of, but only from a LinkedIn perspective.
You join a group (usually a Discord or Telegram channel) where a small number of people follow each other and drop links to the content they have posted. You all then like, comment, retweet, share etc. The idea being that this will grow your profile on your chosen social media channel. The more likes you get, the better algorithmic promotion you will get, more followers etc.
But it seems there are paid and free engagement groups for Twitter too.
Apart from paying for followers from somewhere like Fiverr (not recommended!) joining an engagement group could be the only logical way I might (quickly) grow my number of followers.
After all, I am looking at the numbers of followers people have when I read their content, judging them on their stats. I suspect people are doing the same to me. I am getting some engagement on the replies to other people’s tweets, but this never translates into followers. Am I being tarnished by the numbers I show?
I am now on the lookout for a free engagement group to join.
And if it doesn’t exist, I might try to create my own.
I am not sure how it will work though.
Wow fascinating. Never knew about the, What are some engagement groups you found so far? Not sure if it will work for me, but curious to see how they work now
