Evernote update……stuck

I woke up to a software update for my Evernote desktop app. However, the app is now very slow to load and often crashes. I have noticed that Evernote has added a new feature that lists all the fields attached to each note in a separate section. As a long-time user of Evernote, I have accumulated a lot of attachments in my notes. I suspect that the app is running a process to index all the file attachments and list them in the new section. Unfortunately, this indexing process seems to be causing the app to slow down and crash. It looks like I will have to wait until the indexing process is finished before I can use the app properly. I have no idea how long this will take.

I have logged a support ticket with Evernote, so I am now in a waiting pattern. At least the iPad version of Evernote still works.
