Extending Lifelog offline

Winkletter • 24 Jun 2026 •
Yesterday after I realized I can use the already existing CSS classes on Lifelog in my posts and comments, I began to think about what else I might be missing because I have a preconceived view of what Lifelog is? And I’m not just thinking about adding style to posts, but more broadly, what if I made a Lifelog Dashboard?
I often end up writing what’s top-of-mind when I load the site. But if I thought of the daily Lifelog post as the end of a more personalized goal management system, I could add tons of features on the backend. I might still freewrite 100 words off the top of my head, but I could also have a system I can draw upon. For example, this would mean I could set private goals and posts where I write openly on my file system while I post a more restrained, public summary on Lifelog. What else?
- An idea buffer.
- An emergency post ready to go if I’m about to lose my streak.
- Tools to generate weekly plans.
- Templates for specific types of posts.
- Offline mirror of all my posts.
- Unique systems for surfacing and connecting old entries.
- Work directly with files using Claude Cowork.
My Lifelog streak would be the habit I build a system around.

@Winkletter Haha tbh I was surprised too we can add elements and classes too, but of course, because markdown accepts those
Unique systems for surfacing and connecting old entries.
Interested to hear more about this, @Winkletter! Time Hop is pretty much the most well used and appreciated feature on Lifelog… lots of potential to expand on it

I hope @jasonleow is able to shoulder the responsibility of being the anchor for all this. 😂
