Faschingsdienstag

Apparently, today is “Faschingsdienstag” (carnival Tuesday). I knew it would come up before Easter (I don’t know when that is) as more and more Krapfen (something similar to a doughnut) sales have been popping up. But I didn’t realise it was today.

If I hadn’t been in the coworking space today, I probably fully missed that day. Not that I’m genuinely interested in the festive, or working only until noon.

It’s crazy how fast you forget public holidays as soon as you’re out of school. If my calendar wouldn’t remind me of those, I would most likely work and wonder why nobody else was online. Today isn’t a public holiday, just to be clear. But drunk people will be driving around for the rest of the day, so I guess there will be more police present (at least I hope so). Who would miss a day for day drinking?

People love an excuse to party. And drunk people driving around sounds like another call for reasonable non-emergent transportation solutions in Austria.

Well, it would be better if they wouldn’t drive in the first place.
