I am starting to realise that any attempt to eat more healthily and lose weight will have to involve change. Well… duh!

In my mind, it would be a simple case of cooking different meals to what we eat today. Less carbs and processed food and more home cooked, healthy meals made from real ingredients.

The change there would be that I would have to have more preparation time and more planning, probably food shopping more often and time spent working out meals that we could all enjoy. If you also throw in any sort of intermittent fasting, then the change doubles as you are eating between set times, which adds complexity to the process.

If I was living alone, I think I could probably do it. I would just need to find the right recipes and work it out from there. I am not sure how it would work when I am cooking for the rest of the family and guests at the same time.

I have been watching a few videos of people who have done the FAST 800 diet and have been surprised that the majority actually did lose weight. However, the FAST part means you only eat your meals in a 6 hour window, for example between noon and 6pm. That would also add some extra change into the mix, trying to ensure that takes place as well a everything else.

I am not sure how well I would do with fasting and not eating anything until noon feels like an eternity. However, I assume you can drink tea and water to help keep you going until then.

Really, the FAST 800 plan is just Keto. But it has piqued my interest, so I have downloaded “a copy” of the book for my Kindle. Again, probably one of those things I will read, absorb and do nothing with.
