Feet

Travelling to the office for 8am each day is taking its toll on me now. 2 weeks in and I am starting to feel myself burning at the edges. I was obviously too comfy in my “work from home” bubble, used to not setting the alarm clock unless my wife had to get up for something.
It isn’t easy shifting from one pattern of living to another in such a short space of time. One week I am leisurely sipping tea and doing the Wordle before breakfast and the next, I am rushing to gulp down my drink and get everything else done in time to struggle up the hill to the bus stop when it is still not light yet.
I think I have topped my 10k steps a day for every day since I started to go in. Not to mention the times I have cycled to or from the office, the heavy boxes I have lifted and the running I have started doing again. It’s no wonder my feet hurt today. I am on 18k steps already and have to go out to collect my son from a gig later after midnight, but walk there as my wife has the car for an overnight stay.
I want to have a lay in tomorrow, but sods law I will wake up at 6. Then again, I do have work to catch up on that I didn’t have time to complete during the work day.
