I’m watching the Tigers battle Collingwood, and you can feel both the promise and the pressure in every contest. This young Richmond side has moments when it clicks, with the run, the intent, and the hunger to take the game on, but against a polished Collingwood outfit, those moments need to last longer than a burst. You can see it late in quarters. A missed handball here, a rushed kick there, and suddenly the Magpies pounce. Experience tells in those tight passages. Collingwood seems to steady, slow things down, and make the right decision, while Richmond’s younger players are still learning to manage the moment.

It’s not a lack of effort, far from it. The pressure is there, tackles stick, and the energy around the ball is genuine. But holding on, especially when momentum swings, is a different skill altogether. It’s composure, structure, and that hard-earned belief that comes with time. Still, there’s something encouraging about it. You can see the future in flashes, like a clean clearance, a brave mark, and a quick transition forward. They’re in the fight, just not quite able to hold on when it matters most. Another big loss.
