In the pits

Although I no longer own a track car, motorsport remains a big part of my life through the Zoom Zoom Club. This October, I will head to Winton Raceway for the Winton 10 Hour event, not as a driver but as the team manager for the Zoomstars team. Two years ago, I competed in the event myself. Regularity racing is a true team sport, and while the drivers are the most visible part of the operation, success depends on many people working behind the scenes. This year, I will have the chance to see the event from a completely different perspective.

As team manager, I will focus on organisation, communication, and ensuring that everything runs smoothly. This includes coordinating driver schedules, managing paperwork, and helping resolve problems as they arise. My role will be to support the team so drivers can dedicate their time and energy to racing. While I will miss the thrill of being behind the wheel, I also find great satisfaction in helping others achieve their goals.

Motorsport has always been about more than driving; it embodies friendship, teamwork, and shared experiences. Volunteering with the Zoomstars team helps me stay connected to a sport I have enjoyed while giving back to the club.
