June was mostly a working month.

I spent almost all my time pushing forward my freelance project, especially the mobile app. The plan is still to roll it out before the end of July. There are still bugs here and there, but overall I’m happy with the progress. It has been a long journey, and I think we’ve crossed the finish line.

Since most of my focus was on client work, I honestly didn’t get much product work done this month.

Instead, I spent quite a bit of time exploring AI models and playing around with Hermes. That has been surprisingly fun, and I feel like it changed how I think about my daily workflow.

One thing I’m planning to do over the next few months is rebuild my entire productivity stack. I’m going to cancel quite a few SaaS subscriptions and spend that budget on AI tokens instead. The idea is simple: using AI model tokens and my Mac mini, I should be able to replace most of those paid tools with open-source AI-powered software.

We’ll see how it goes.

My Product Weekend also took a different direction than I originally planned. At first, I wanted to build HookFeed, but after spending more time with Hermes, I decided to focus on something that would help me every day instead.

The whole weekend became an experiment to build an AI agent workflow using Hermes, Trello, and the Codex Mac app. Instead of building another product, I wanted to build a better way for me to build products.

I think that’s a worthwhile investment. If I can get this workflow right, it won’t just help with one product—it should help with every product I build in the future.

That’s the plan.
