Meditating in the sauna
My friend’s apartment complex has a sauna that I try to use every week and I’ve been experimenting with meditating in the sauna. It’s always a humbling experience to breathe through the heat and sweat dripping down my body. Today I experience an interesting sensation where being in the sauna long enough I felt my body feeling a wave of panic- a kind panic that seems to be shouting for me to get some cold air. But just through breathing slowly, I was able to find myself back to a peaceful place.
I’m learning to be more comfortable with the discomfort, and that makes me very comforted.
