Milanote alternatives

I just wanted to remind you about my decision to cancel my Milanote subscription, which I usually use for brainstorming and planning.

I’ve found a couple of alternatives: Apple Freeform and Muse. Apple Freeform is free and has been improving with each release. Since I have a setapp subscription, I can use Muse for free as well.

Apple Freeform is deeply integrated within Mac and iOS. It has an iPad app that works well with the Apple Pencil. However, it doesn’t have a Chrome extension. To work around this, you can use the share feature on the Chrome browser to share the link to FreeForm through the share sheet integration.

Muse is a Mac and iPad app. It doesn’t have a web version, but the mobile version also collects information. Muse’s flow is more thoughtful than Freeform’s, making it a good choice despite its lack of a web version. Like Freeform, it also lacks a Chrome extension, so you can share through the share sheet on Mac as well.

It’s a tough choice, but I prefer the appearance of the links on Freeform, while I like how Muse organizes the data. I’m planning to try both next month to see which one suits my workflow better.

Tell me more about Apple Freeform. How exactly do you use it? How is it different from the Notes app?

@therealbrandonwilson still testing will it work for my flow or not basically, I save bookmark, write some text, put some link and use it for brainstorm, not ideal, not as good as milanote I would say, but maybe just working this way doesn’t really suit me
