More positive feedback

So this afternoon, after successfully merging the changes I had made to the staging branch, I put the site back online with a mobile sidebar option for showing the categories.
I am still not happy with how the site looks.
I mean, it looks decent. But I feel something is off.
I have an eye for design. I know something is off but because I am not a prolific designer, I can’t yet put my finger on it and design it right myself. I guess I have to put in the reps.
I set out to “launch” the site in a sizeable FB group for Expats in Copenhagen that I am a member of. I don’t use FB, but that group is about 75K people, and it is decently active, so why not.
Well… These are the results after a couple of hours:

It is not just visits. It is user engagement. The Reddit post and the FB post have more than 50 comments, with suggestions for changes, additions, and suggestions for listings.
In addition, I am gathering suggestions from users via a Tally form, so far:

This is really encouraging.

Thanks for taking the time to look at it and suggesting improvements Brandon.
The text descriptions have come up several times from users, so what you are suggesting is a fully validated point. I am now thinking of ways to deal with this: do I modify the design to include more of the description? or do I implement a “detail view” of each listing where I can show the full description PLUS other interesting information about each listing?
With regards to the ranking, great idea! From a technical perspective, it would require that I implement a user management system + the rating/review system, in other words, it requires a bit of work from my side. I have to decide if this is something I want to do, and because I have not heard this mentioned by users, I will ask them before embarking on building this feature. It seems like a good idea to me, but it should be driven by users.
Thanks a lot Brandon!

The design looks fine to me using Brave browser on MacBook Air. I’m not the target audience, but I do have a couple of thoughts. I would probably like just a bit more of the text preview for the ones that are longer than the current preview (or shorten the descriptions). Also, for categories with many options, I wonder if you could offer some way that people could rate them or pull in Google/other ratings to nudge people who are stuck in analysis paralysis.
