Morning writing

It’s better to write here in the morning. At night I’m more tired, rushed, and anxious. I’m more likely to approach the task with dread, which leads to a feedback loop where I dread writing, write later, and dread writing more.

There are times at night where I have ideas in my pocket ready to go, but they’ve developed into a treatise or a monograph. It’s too much and then I have to improvise a fast dash to the finish line.

Writing in the morning sets my agenda. Instead of presenting answers, I can explore questions. If nothing else, the morning post clears my schedule.

Comments

Except when I write in the morning, I feel like I have nothing to look forward to. The ‘when will I write’ induced anxiousness is fun to have.

@isra.a.writes I get the opposite reaction. I feel like a bird freed from its cage.
