Non-existence

Self-Reflection: What new habits, environments, or people could help me accelerate my growth into who I want to be?

I’m writing more consistently, but now it’s time for me to focus on publishing.

Your #1 competition is likely to be:

  • apathy about the problem
  • uncertainty that you have the right solution for their needs
  • attention (cuz they got distracted)
  • awareness (cuz they don’t know you exist)
  • non-existence (cuz you didn’t ship)

– The Tiny MBA by Alex Hillman

Right now I barely exist. And that’s probably good because I’ve been inconsistent and undisciplined. I need to exist. I need to be seen. I need to catch people’s attention and convince them I’m a reliable solution to their problem.

Creative Question: When do I feel most creatively alive in the developmental process? How can I lean into that more?

My favorite part of the development process is when I realize some unimportant detail I wrote earlier ties back to what I’m currently working on. That’s a lot of the joy of writing, discovering those hidden connections. It’s almost like I am solving a puzzle my subconscious mind created.

This is part of the reason why I think ideas and inspiration are over-rated. They’re not nearly as important as a simple impetus to write and confidence that writing will generate the ideas.
