I was not surprised when I stepped on the scales this morning to find I had put on two and a half kilograms. Naturally, I enjoyed my food, and as a result, I overindulged in cakes and other sweets that I had avoided for a long time.

If there is an opposite to mindful eating, then it must be heedless eating, and that’s what I did over the weekend. Unfortunately, I had a reckless lack of attention to what I ate, and the extra kilograms resulted. I have refocused my eating habits on foods I know will help me lose those kilos. This includes returning to my salad lunch, with only fruit for snacks between meals.

I am not too concerned about going off track with my eating, but I need to return to better eating this week. I weigh myself each morning to keep track of my weight. An upturn in my weight means I must knuckle down to return to my preferred weight. I am confident I will return there in a week or so.


At least it sounds better than 5.5 pounds. 😂
