Patience beget patience

Patience is a virtue

I heard this a lot growing up and it always felt a little empty to me. It sounded more like a fact than wisdom, and I never thought too much about it. The more I’ve grown up, and more experiences I have with others, I realized just how incredible patience is and why the closer I look around me, the more I realize that it’s in short supply. It’s not a criticism, just an overall observation that there are always opportunities for us to practice more patience.

I never woke up in the morning and said to myself, “Oh my goal today is to be more patient to others.” However, through my meditation and the act of learning to let go over and over and over again, I’ve noticed what patience meant and strategies I can do to harness it in different scenarios. The coolest thing about it is seeing how it has an effect on people closest to me. My mentee has told me that she was grateful for my patience and felt that it had rubbed up on her and especially helped her during my days leading up to the Product Hunt launch. My girlfriend had also mentioned to me that she feels like she can feel my growth through just how much more patient I’ve been.

If patience is a virtue, then someone thanking you for being patient feels like a good indicator of you being a better version of yourself. Onward!
