As internet usage has become more ubiquitous, I must protect my personal information and maintain privacy online. Hence, I have decided to use a pseudonym when creating accounts on different websites to add another layer of security. By doing so, I can avoid sharing my real name, email address, and phone number with everyone and reduce the risk of identity theft, harassment, and unwanted attention from strangers.

Using a pseudonym also has other benefits. It allows me to keep my online presence separate from my real-life identity, which can be incredibly useful for maintaining different personas for personal or professional reasons. This separation also helps me avoid any confusion or overlap between my online and offline personalities, making it easier to manage my online reputation. Using a pseudonym gives me a sense of control and security, and I can confidently navigate the internet without worrying about compromising my privacy or risking unwanted attention.

Using a pseudonym can provide a degree of privacy, but it is essential to understand that it does not guarantee complete anonymity. To avoid potential security threats, having a pseudonym is only one of several necessary precautions that I need to take. Other best practices for online security should also be followed to prevent unauthorised access to my personal information.
