Sell yesterday, buy today

The metaphorical ink was barely dry on the digital contract to sell our current house when we turned our attention to buying a new one. Last night, our home sale had a fantastic outcome, which boosted our confidence that finding our next place could be simpler. My wife and I had seen a lovely townhouse nearing completion in our desired area and were eager to purchase it. As a result, our vendor advocate switched roles and became our buying advocate today, sending him off to initiate negotiations with the selling agent.
The proceeds from the sale of our current home facilitated this negotiation, though we were still far from the vendor’s asking price when we submitted our initial offer. This is the usual process: start with a lower offer and gradually increase it, hoping the vendor might meet us halfway. While the vendor was reluctant to negotiate his price, our buyer’s advocate convinced him to lower it slightly before we agreed on a selling price. Ultimately, we were pleased to invest in a home we will cherish in a great location. After nearly ten years, our desire to move closer to the city has finally been achieved.
Though it is yet to be completed, our new home is the townhouse to the right on this rendered image.
Looks wonderful! Congrats! And I hope you’ll soon turn this house into a lovely home.
