Sleep

My sleep is kinda broken, but interestingly, my Apple Watch says I’m fine. But let’s start from the beginning.

The last few weeks, my evening routine was pretty shitty, consisting of late eating, random go to bed times and screens. Thus, my sleep hygiene hasn’t been the best either. Waking up multiple times a night, and no wake up discipline. The only thing consistent: exceeded 8 hours of sleep.

I’ve got the Apple Watch Ultra 2 now for quite some time, but to be honest, Apple’s sleep tracking seems to be shit. Sure, you can see your sleep cycle and wake times, but no interpretation, which means you need to buy another app for that. But there doesn’t seem to be a good one. “Sleep Cycle”, which I have been trying out for several months now, always says I’m above the 90% range.

Back in my Android days, with the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, I had some comprehensive analysis which matched my night experience. Also, power naps could be tracked.

Anyway, I know what I’m doing wrong, so I just need to fix it, no gadget will help me with that anyway :)

I’m a big Apple fan, but I cannot defend the Apple Watch. So what’s the plan for fixing sleep?

No full plan yet. I’ll have to push through the next two weeks, as there is a bunch of work to do, that needs to be finished before I go on a two-week PTO.
