Supercars

As I was driving to my parents today (bank holiday over here), some supercars showed up in my rear window. A tow Lamborghinis and an Audi R8 passed me before a motorcycle overtook me too, almost hitting oncoming traffic.

I’m not a speeding guy myself (no speed ticket since I got my licence back in 2013) and I know at long distances I’ll lose with my Tesla Model 3. Especially, since it is the smallest one with the weakest battery. Anyway, we came onto a roundabout before us and I could hear the first Lamborghini speed up. I know that part of the road pretty good, so I stepped onto the accelerator too. Interestingly, they didn’t manage to outrun me and I would have been faster, but the motorcyclist in front of me hadn’t a machine that beefy as I thought.

That shows how far electric vehicles have come. I’m driving a mid-sized sedan and can keep up with cars that cost at least twice as much or even more. There is a nice video of Unplugged Performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=voL7h5UuEag they had one of the first Model S Plaids back then and just dusted some of the most powerful vehicles.
And you can clearly hear that the vehicles passed in the above video were driving at full power.

Crazy times we live in. It is crazy how much power you can engineer out of electricity.

Electric certainly wins the sprint but not the marathon.

No need to win the marathon if you’re only driving sprints :)
