Swiss Mountain Passes

Switzerland has over 70 mountain passes over 1,000 metres. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to drive all of them on my current trip, but I did get to drive on some of the most famous mountain passes yesterday.
The Oberalp Pass is a high mountain pass in the Swiss Alps. It connects the cantons of Graubünden and Uri between Disentis and Andermatt. The pass road is only open in the summer, typically from late May to mid-October, due to heavy snowfall during the winter.
The Furka Pass is a high mountain pass in the Swiss Alps, connecting the cantons of Uri and Valais. It reaches an elevation of 2,429 metres above sea level and is known for its stunning views of the surrounding mountains and glaciers.
Grimsel Pass is located in the Bernese Alps, with an elevation of 2,164 metres. It connects the Haslital, the upper valley of the river Aare, with the upper valley of the Rhône. The pass road, open only in summer, offers scenic views of the surrounding mountains and lakes.
Susten Pass is a mountain pass located at an elevation of 2,264 meters above sea level. It connects the Reuss Valley in the canton of Uri with the Haslital in the canton of Bern. It offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and glaciers. On this occasion, it was closed to through traffic.
Without hesitation, I can say yesterday was one of the best driving days on tour.
