Table order

The COVID experience of the past two years has changed many things, including how we order our food at a restaurant. Many restaurants now offer table ordering via a QR Code. When sitting down at a table, the waitress gave us instructions on how to order. A QR code was on the table’s edge to order and pay for our meal. Then, we had to scan the code and choose food from the menu.
After scanning the QR code, I had the menu on my phone. The menu online was very well laid out, clearly showing which items were gluten-free, vegetation or hot and spicy. I am always happy to shout dinner, so I use my phone, and when it comes to paying, I often have three options, pay by credit card, pay by Apple Pay, or set up a tab. I liked the idea that I could set up a tab. In this way, I could place several orders and settle the bill at the end of the dinner.
I suspect no one knew what a QR Code was before COVID. Now they are all the go for contactless restaurant orders.
I enjoyed it initially but mostly not enjoying it now as it takes so many more steps to order (especially having to fish out my credit card to key into a suspect onetime app) than previously.
