The accidental book

I unexpectedly wrote a book yesterday.

A lot of times after I submit my LifeLog posts, I drop what I wrote into ChatGPT and continue to write. I’ll then collect these chats in NotebookLM. I wanted to run some tests on how well the new custom reports could handle writing things like book proposals, chapter synopses, book outlines, and even individual chapters. Surprisingly well, as it turned out.

I collected about ten of my long, rambling chats together and generated all the materials I mentioned, and since I had a detailed 3k-word outline for a 12-chapter book I had the AI generate each of the chapters.

The 1st draft is 22k words and a bit of a mess. The style is flat and dull. But it’s not bad for something that took maybe 5 hours to put together. (I’m not counting the time it took to chat with ChatGPT to develop the source material). And because it’s based on my own chat transcripts, the whole thing is constructed from my own ideas.

Stop writing into the void.

Most writers feel like they’re bowling in the dark—hurling words into silence, never knowing if they hit anything. But writing isn’t actually solitary work. It’s a social game with hidden rules, and once you learn to play it, everything changes.

This book cracks the code: how your words Filter (find your people), Capture (keep them hooked), and Convert (turn readers into raving fans). No more guessing. No more hoping. Just a clear playbook for writers ready to stop overthinking and start connecting.

It needs a lot of work, but seeing it all laid out in 20k words motivates me to make it real.
