The Front Fence

Who would have imagined that replacing a front fence could turn into such a major project? What initially seemed like a simple task quickly grew more complex, starting with securing council approval for a taller fence. Once the permit was finally granted, it was a relief to see the project start last week. However, the difficulties didn’t end there. I sympathise with our builder, who struggled to remove the old posts and install new ones. Concrete around the existing posts made excavation tougher than expected, and he had to navigate carefully around pipes. What should have been straightforward holes for new posts became quite an undertaking.

He has persisted through the challenges, and all the new posts are now securely installed. Moving forward, completing the rest of the fence should be straightforward and efficient. We are fortunate to have such a dependable builder who consistently adheres to his quote, stays focused on the job at hand, and remains uncomplaining when unforeseen issues require extra work. After navigating council paperwork, pouring concrete, and dealing with underground surprises, it will be very rewarding to see our new front fence fully finished and in place, so the boys can have a good run around.
