There we go again

Yesterday I heard about someone who was vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine and still got severely ill with COVID19. I had managed to get myself away from the news long enough to believe that we were almost back to normal in the US.

I was very carefree in where I went and using mask/sanitizers. Exactly after my second shot, I started celebrating my freedom by trying to make up for the last year. Just last week, I was looking for events like stand up comedy and story telling. I had also gone out a few times to crowded restaurants to catch up with old friends.

And now, I have PTSD of what could happen to me if I were sick again. I have no energy to visit a hospital or get sick at all. I am done with all that mess. So I am back in quarantine. I have cancelled all the plans I had made to go out and meet people. It is non-negotiable.

Just like the first time last year, I have bought supplies and medication to last me a few months if need be. I have canned and dry foods if supply is interrupted.

As of 10pm yesterday, I also cancelled my WeWork membership. I completed the 1 month free trial and got a lot of things done. But the 40 minute commute one way - along with the parking problems were already getting to me. Now with the additional risk of contracting COVID - it was a no-brainer to cancel.

I still have ambitions to get some things done in the next 8 weeks. So I have to stay healthy and find a way to be productive right at home.

Oh dear… hope this doesn’t dampen your spirits from last month. Is working at home harder for you to focus?

Separately, been following the topic on how vax efficacy is lower with the new variants. Pesky buggers.

That was my fear too. I am just so much more productive in a cafe or a work space… at least when I am doing my own thing. I will find a way to replicate my energy and space at home. I have a lot I want to get done and this is a minor hiccup.

Great to hear that optimism! I wrote a thread previously about setting up a space for writing/work, might help: https://twitter.com/golifelog/status/1384800181808365570

Great tips. I like the use of GIFs a lot.
